Purpose

A signal in an automatic block can not be locked using the Lock Signal Button. You need to use the Block Disable Button (BlSpT) instead.

Operation

The BlSpT must be pressed together with the signal button of the block signal. The signal will then drop to Stop and a yellow Lock indicator lights up.

The block signal can be unlocked again with the Block Enable Button (BlEspT).

Examples of Use

Locking a block signal may be necessary, for example, if a a level crossing is disturbed in the block section. The train must then stop at the signal and then receive a written order to secure the level crossing.

Block signals in automatic blocks (Selbstblock) drop to Stop, when a route is set against the normal track direction (wrong line operation). In case the block signals do not change to the Proceed aspect automatically once the Wrong Line Operation has been completed, you need to lock (BlSpT) and unlock (BlEspT) to resolve such issues. The same procedure can be used when a signal does not change to proceed after the subsequent block section has cleared (after obtaining section clear confirmation first!) and the next main signal has dropped to Stop. If this does not help either, then calling the signal technician is the last one who can help ...
