Purpose

The FBM (Fernsteuerbetriebsmelder, literally, "remote control indicator") and FGrM indicators appear together. These indicators provide a feedback to the dispatcher that there is active communication between the panel and the interlocking system in remotely-controlled areas.

Operation

Remote Control Status Indicators

Only one of the two lights will be on at any given time; if one is ON, the other is OFF.

When no route activity is occurring, FGrM is ON.

When a route is set through a remote-controlled area, or a train occupies or deoccupies track in such an area, the FBM light is ON. After 2 or 3 seconds of inactivity, the FBM light will go OFF, and FGrM will go ON.
